As an Industrial and Commercial Sales Representative, you will be responsible for all sales activities in the Evolve Industrial and Commercial sales market. This includes growing the customer base and developing the commercial sales business through consistent territory planning and review.

  • Defining market opportunities along with producing a plan to achieve market penetration in the commercial sector.
  • Maximising opportunities to achieve sales targets by growing and developing the sector.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales and prospecting activities including phone calls, appointments, presentations, closing of sales, and follow-up activities.
  • Developing a database of key clients through effective communication including referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email, and networking.
  • Responsibility for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals.
  • Developing and managing any networking and engagement programmes associated with governmental departments to enhance Evolves relationships and to support the overall sales effort.
  • Establishing relationships and maintaining contact with all clients, both at middle and senior management level, in the Evolve market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and provide an excellent standard of customer service.
  • Responsibility for identifying and building an effective network with Key Account Managers and other gas professionals to maximise revenue in the commercial sector.
  • Assist the Business Development Manager in identifying and progressing to connection large industrial customers.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports to Business Development Manager.

What you will need

  • Technical understanding of gas distribution network equipment and operation.
  • Technical knowledge relating to calorific values of fuels and energy conversion factors.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Experience of project managing connections to a gas distribution network, preferably for SME users.
  • A detailed knowledge of the natural gas wholesale market, including Northern Ireland supply tariff options.
  • Experience of working in SME market sector.
  • Understanding of the network gained from operational experience, typically over at least 3 years in the B2B sector or at least 5 years’ experience working in a competitive sales environment with a particular emphasis on territorial sales and working alongside marketing and communications with a brand or brands of reputable standing.
  • Knowledge of the decarbonisation pathway in Northern Ireland with particular detail relating to gas distribution networks, including, but not limited to AD Plant connections.
  • Fully conversant with safety rules and associated procedures pertinent to the role.
  • Awareness of Company policies and procedures or ability to demonstrate a history of working to policies and procedures.
  • Expert ability to program territorial support to ensure prompt communication with customers.
  • A track record of proven delivery, demonstrating both creative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets.
  • Excellent customer relation development skills.
  • Articulate, self-confident, assertive, empathetic and persuasive.
  • Good presentation skills.

The Records Control Assistant / GIS Digitiser plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and quality of Evolve’s network records. The role combines site-based data capture, records control, and GIS digitisation, converting physical measurements, drawings, maps, and imagery into high-quality digital spatial data.

You will support mapping, digital management, spatial analysis, and compliance activities, ensuring the integrity of network records that underpin safe operation, contractor payments, and future planning.

Field & Records Control Activities
  • Travel to network development sites across the operational area to measure laid mains and services pipework.
  • Produce accurate “as laid” drawing packs for digitalisation and records update.
  •  Undertake as laid drawings for services where required.
  • Log accurate statistics for laid pipework to support network records and contractor payment processes.
  • Identify, report, and submit network inaccuracies via the Error Management reporting process.
  • Ensure compliance targets relevant to the role are consistently achieved.
  • Promote and demonstrate safe working behaviours at all times, both within Evolve and with contract partners.

GIS & Digitisation Activities
  • Convert spatial information from site surveys, hand-drawn sketches, maps, plans, drawings, and imagery into accurate digital GIS data.
  • Digitise features from scanned maps and survey information.
  • Create, edit, and maintain geospatial datasets using GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS).
  • Carry out data quality assurance checks, identify digitising errors, and correct inconsistencies.
  • Ensure GIS data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
  • Assist with map production and preparation of spatial data for analysis and reporting.
  • Engage with site survey teams, project managers, and other stakeholders as required.
 
What you will need
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to data capture and management.
  • Experience using GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS or similar).
  • Ability to interpret maps, drawings, plans, and technical information.
  • Good computer and IT skills, with confidence in data handling.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
Role Requirements
  • Willingness to undertake a varied role combining office/computer-based work with regular site visits.
  • Flexible approach to working across different locations.
  • Full valid UK manual driving licence.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
  • Training will be provided where required.
