Dungannon gas network extension update and travel advice for October
Posted: 01 Oct, 2026
Local distribution network operator, Evolve, has confirmed details of the next phase of the gas network extension in Dungannon. The works will help meet strong demand for gas in the area, allowing more homes and businesses to connect to Evolve’s network and benefit from a cleaner, more efficient energy system.
This week, teams commenced work on Sloan Street, which has a full road closure in place, and Greers Road, where a one-way lane closure is in place. Work is expected to continue in both areas for approximately two to three weeks, with access maintained for residents and businesses.
From next Monday, Shamble Lane will move to a full road closure. This is scheduled to last for approximately two weeks with access maintained for residents and businesses.
Night works will also begin on Scotch Street next Monday. A full road closure will be in place from 7:00pm each weekday evening with traffic flow and parking restored by early morning. It is anticipated that night works on Scotch Street will run for approximately three to four weeks.
Schedules remain subject to change as works progress, and any diversion routes will be clearly signposted at the respective sites.
Gas network extension works were recently completed at Union Place, while works on parts of Scotch Street and Thomas Street have also concluded.
Residents, businesses and motorists are encouraged to plan journeys in advance and remain up to date with the latest updates via the dedicated roadworks section of the Evolve website - evolvenetwork.co.uk/roadworks - or by checking Evolve’s social media channels.
To make it easier for customers to get connected, homes and businesses can use the interactive postcode checker at www.evolvenetwork.co.uk to check whether their property is ready to connect to the network and discover whether they are eligible for any connection incentives.
