Dungannon gas works update and travel advice as school traffic returns

Local distribution network operator, Evolve, has confirmed that its phased programme of gas infrastructure works will continue across Dungannon throughout September, as works progress on the ongoing expansion of the town's gas network. 

 

A team have started works this week on Barrack Street, with normal one-way traffic flow maintained, before moving to Union Place. Works that commenced on William Street last month continue into early September, with the current one-way lane closure still in place. 

 

From mid-September, works will progress to John Street, with a planned one-way closure in place, and Georges Street, where laybys will be used and one-way traffic flow maintained. Additional planned works in September include Thomas Street, Greer Road, and Scotch Street. Further information on dates and traffic management arrangements for these locations will become available in due course. 

 

Schedules remain subject to change as works progress, and any diversion routes will be clearly signposted at the respective sites. 

 

With schools returning this month, residents, businesses and motorists are encouraged to plan journeys in advance and keep up to date with the latest updates via the dedicated roadworks section of the Evolve website - evolvenetwork.co.uk/roadworks - or by checking Evolve’s social media channels.
