Enniskillen river crossing special information event

Residents in Enniskillen interested in connecting their home heating supply to natural gas in the coming months, are invited to drop-in to a special roadshow event taking place there on 20th July.
SGN Natural Gas is hosting an information session in Fermanagh House on Tuesday, 20th July (4pm-7pm), to enable the local community to get more details about a major river crossing at the Lakeland Forum which will allow the rest of Enniskillen to avail of a natural gas conversion.
Those who come along to the session will be able to speak directly with a member of the team of contractors carrying out the significant river crossing work which is scheduled to commence at the start of August and take approximately eight weeks to complete.
Homeowners eager to convert their heating system from oil or solid fuel to natural gas will also have an opportunity to speak with the local SGN Natural Gas Domestic Sales Representative about getting connected and grants currently on offer to help them with the installation process.
The river crossing will be carried out as part of multi-million pounds investment in new energy infrastructure delivering natural gas to homes and businesses in the west of Northern Ireland. It is one of the largest single pieces of infrastructure development to take place in Enniskillen.
Public access will be maintained at the Lakeland Forum while the work is taking place, with minimal impact on those wishing to use the playing fields and pathway. The work will be undertaken in a way that ensures access for regular users of the facilities, however there will be a partial closure of the running track. Car parking provision will remain unaffected at the Forum.
Darren Young, SGN Natural Gas Head of Business Development, encouraged householders to come along to the information sessions being held in Enniskillen on 20th July at Fermanagh House; 4th August at Lakeland Forum; and 17th August at Fermanagh House, anytime between 4pm-7pm.
He said: “Our team are looking forward to having the opportunity to meet customers wishing to find out more about the benefits of converting to natural gas and also about the Enniskillen river crossing.” Investment in the new infrastructure will offer wider access to a cleaner fuel choice for home heating requirements in the island town and help to significantly reduce carbon emissions in the wider network in the west.
SGN Natural Gas recently presented Bug motels to all local primary schools as part of the company’s wider biodiversity campaign. A community art competition is also currently underway for local school children to draw their superheroes and the entries will be showcased on site during the river crossing works next month.
SGN Natural Gas is also making a special donation to Mind Wise – The Family Wellness Project which is based in Fermanagh House, for each competition entry submitted by the closing date on 19th July.
