Evolve gas upgrade works paused for festive period

Evolve has confirmed the temporary suspension of gas upgrade works in town centres across the network for the Christmas and New Year period. The suspension came into effect on Monday 24th November 2025, with works scheduled to resume in early January.
All remaining works were completed last week in preparation for the seasonal break, with the goal of ensuring smooth, uninterrupted access for motorists and pedestrians during one of the year’s busiest trading periods.
David Butler, Director of Evolve, emphasised the company’s continued commitment to the local community at this traditionally busy time of year.
He said: “As our gas upgrade works are placed on hold for the next few weeks, this will undoubtedly have a positive impact for traders and shoppers alike. At Evolve, we value our relationship with the local community very highly, and steps like this help create a smoother shopping and travel experience across our key town centres during the festive period.
“Having recently celebrated our 5000th connection in the network, our aim is to make gas available to as many homes and businesses as possible as we ultimately aspire to decarbonise the network in the long term. We will continue working closely with the community in the coming years to reach this goal, and we are especially grateful for your ongoing support. Evolve has collaborated closely with local councils, businesses, community groups, and other relevant stakeholders in the west of Northern Ireland since it first began facilitating gas connections and will continue doing so as the gas network expands in 2026 amid growing demand.
