Gas expansion plans confirmed for Dungannon throughout August

Evolve, the gas network operator for the west of Northern Ireland, has announced a further expansion of their network in Dungannon, with phases of key infrastructure works taking place across the town throughout August.

 

Works have already commenced across Northland Row, Northland Place and Ranfurly Road and plans are now in place to take in a wider programme of works in the town centre for the coming weeks, with a one-way closure currently in place on Donaghmore Road.

 

This will be followed by works at Church Street and Perry Street in early August. Church Street is planned for a full closure, with motorists advised to follow the signed diversion via Scotch Street, Railway Road, Milltown Road, Wellington Road, and Ranfurly Road. Access to Church Street will still be available for deliveries via the footpaths.

 

For Perry Street, a one-way closure is planned, with the road closed for traffic from Northland Row, a diversion will be signposted toward Northland Row for those travelling from Ranfurly Road and this will continue through Circular Road and Thomas Street. Perry Street Car Park can be accessed via Park Road and deliveries will also be facilitated through this route.

 

Works throughout August include:

 

·      Anne Street – two-way traffic flow will be maintained

·      Park Road – one-way closure, with a diversion in place

·      Victoria Road – one-way traffic flow will be maintained

·      William Street – one-way closure, with a diversion in place

·      Barrack Street – one-way traffic flow will be maintained

·      John Street – one-way closure, with a diversion in place

·      Greers Road – one-way closure, with a diversion in place

 

Schedules are subject to change depending on the progress by the construction team and diversion routes will be clearly signposted at the respective sites.

Upon completion, these enhancements will increase capacity on the Dungannon network, enabling more homes and businesses to connect to Evolve's gas infrastructure and enjoy the immediate benefits of a cleaner, more efficient energy system.
