Home again and warming up: Omagh couple delighted with switch to gas

When an Omagh couple returned home after 25 years in Dublin, one of their first priorities was making the switch to gas.
 
Raymond and Louise Donnelly moved into an oil-heated house in the Co. Tyrone town several years ago and found themselves struggling to adjust to the drop in performance when compared to gas.
 
Gas was a staple in our household when we were living in Dublin, and we didn’t want to lose the convenience of it.” Raymond explained. “Our house wasn’t heating great with oil, it was very inconvenient and just never lived up to our expectations at all.
 
Louise took the first step and made the call to Evolve to enquire about switching.

I noticed the leaflet that came through the door, quickly made the call, and the Evolve representative Vincent came to our house the next day.
 
From there, the process moved quickly.

The installation team arrived within the week. They started at 7:30am, and we had a hot house by 5pm. We were told, ‘You’ll have oil heating in the morning and gas heating by the evening’. The whole process was seamless.

As part of the upgrade, insulation was also added to the roof space, creating a warmer and more energy-efficient living home. Raymond praised the professionalism of the crew, noting that the teams worked with military precision. 
 
The installation team knew exactly what they were doing and got on with the job at hand. They were quick, cleaned everything up when they were finished and were very nice to deal with. You wouldn’t have known they’d been here.
 
When the installation was going on, the dog didn’t even mind!  Raymond laughed.

Now that the system is up and running, the couple is enjoying the full range of benefits that gas brings, from the comfort of instant heat to the convenience of cooking with gas. Not only does the house feel warmer, but it also looks better, with modern convenience in the form of an app. 

I can now access everything through an app on my phone! This would never have been an option previously, but it just makes things so much handier to manage.
Louise added: 

We don’t have the oil tank in the garden anymore - that was an eyesore. It took up so much space, which we can now use for other things. 
 
Reflecting on the entire experience, one word sums it up for Louise: “Efficient.”

We would definitely recommend it. We’ve already recommended making the change to gas to others, everyone should convert to gas for a variety of reasons – but the convenience is what sells it to us.
