Road and lane closures announced in Dungannon, Cookstown, Clonoe and Enniskillen as network expands

Road and lane closures will be in operation throughout the Mid Ulster and Fermanagh & Omagh council regions during a traditionally quieter period for most as SGN Natural Gas expands its network, providing more access to the most environmentally friendly of the commonly-used heating fuels.
In Dungannon, Killyman Road will be closed from 20th April for approximately two days between the Bush Road and Gortmerron Link Road junctions. A signposted diversion route will be in operation via Gortmerron Link Road, Moy Road, Ranfurley Road and Northland Row. Gortmerron Link Road itself will be closed from 22nd April for approximately one day with a diversion route via Killyman Road, Far Circular Road and Moy Road.
Morgans Hill Road in Cookstown will have a lane closure in place from 20th April lasting approximately three days, with traffic being managed via portable traffic signals. Traffic management systems will also be in operation for a lane closure along Moor Road in Clonoe, beginning on 19th April and lasting for approximately 19 days.
In Enniskillen, a section of Dublin Road will observe a lane closure using portable traffic signals from 11th April and lasting approximately three days. Dublin Road will have a further lane closure, extending to Wickham Place, from 20th April for approximately three days.
SGN Natural Gas has notified local residents and businesses who may be affected by the works, which have been approved by DfI Roads and will be carried out by Kier.
The dates have been carefully selected to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum, particularly with school traffic in mind. By undertaking these works during a traditionally quieter period for most, this will help ensure we are collaborating effectively with our stakeholders, members of the public and our customers.
Our infrastructure will ultimately play a key role in decarbonising Northern Ireland, particularly with recent biomethane developments for our network as well as the publication of the Energy Strategy which recommends consumers switch from oil to natural gas.
This is an exciting period for the SGN Natural Gas project and we are delighted our network will soon be reaching more areas as the demand for conversions continues to grow.
