Enniskillen man "Couldn't be Happier" with Natural Gas Installation in his Home

An Enniskillen man who recently installed natural gas to his home has said he cannot believe the number of benefits it has brought since its arrival.

Local resident Colm Carters made the switch from oil to gas after his boiler system broke down, and decided it was time to make a change.

“I had been using oil beforehand, and it just wasn't working for me,” Colm explains. “Two of my sisters already use gas and they both recommended it, so I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised with the process. I couldn't be happier with the results.”

Colm's oil tank was previously located in the middle of his back garden, taking up valuable space. However, after the switch to gas the tank was removed, providing extra storage outdoors. A secondary tank was removed from the attic, freeing up further significant space.

“The property looks and feels cleaner,” he said. “I’m hoping for a spell of good weather so we can start putting out tables and chairs outside and making the most of the garden, and the removal of the tank in the attic means we now have so much extra space and storage up there - it’s brilliant.”

Colm received an additional benefit from the natural gas installation process performed at his home, which was completed with minimal disruption. “The installation process was quick and easy; it took just one day. I was dreading a long installation process, but I've never seen anything as quick in my life,” Colm recalls. “The team were very neat and tidy; they were in and out in no time.”

Colm is also enjoying the advantage of using an app on his phone, which allows him to control his heating and hot water usage. “I can turn the gas on and off as I like, and I only use hot water when I need to use it,” he explains. “If we are out for a night I can just hit ‘boost’ and have the house heated before we come back. It’s great just walking into a warm home.”

Colm's family and friends have all been impressed with the results, with another sister planning to make the switch next. “If anyone was thinking of getting gas installed, I would tell them to definitely do it!” Colm concludes. “I have no regrets.”
