Evolve supports Energy Saving Week 2024
Posted: 18 Nov, 2024
Evolve is proud to support Energy Saving Week as it returns for its 24th year between Monday 18th November and Friday 22nd November 2024.
This initiative, organised by the Energy Saving Trust and supported by the Housing Executive and other partners, aims to provide people across Northern Ireland with practical tools and knowledge to reduce energy use, lower their bills, and reduce their carbon footprint. Each day of the five-day campaign highlights a different aspect of energy saving, from quick money-saving tips to insights into low-carbon technologies. Interactive activities, including the annual energy-saving challenge for primary and secondary schools mark the seventh year of engaging young people in efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

David Butler, Director of Evolve, said:
“This Energy Saving Week, Evolve is dedicated to helping people be conscious of their energy usage and save on their energy bills. It’s crucial that Evolve assists people as best we can in adopting energy-efficient practices for a low-carbon future. As a cleaner and more efficient energy source than oil and solid fuel, our gas infrastructure will play a vital role in decarbonising the region, especially with the recent developments in biomethane within our network.”
Laura McGadie, Group Head of Energy at the Energy Saving Trust, added:
“Energy Saving Week is a chance for individuals to think about small steps they can take to lower their energy bills and carbon emissions. With energy costs peaking during the winter, we’re excited to partner with the Housing Executive and its collaborators to reach as many people as possible across Northern Ireland. We’re also eager to empower young individuals to take initiative in saving energy and positively influencing carbon reduction.”
With Energy Saving Week in mind, Evolve is improving its gas infrastructure by incorporating renewable biomethane into the grid to aid in decarbonising the gas network. This will provide households and businesses with a cleaner, more efficient energy source. By implementing even small changes, people in Northern Ireland can help create a more sustainable future while reducing their energy expenses.
